THE FORCES MARCH - 5 marathons in 5 days in the footsteps of heroes
The Forces March has become well known for the incredible atmosphere and shared bond between the participants. It's the people that make the march what it is and this page is dedicated to some of the 'legends' of the march.

Iva has the distinction of being the oldest person to have completed the march. In 2011 Iva took part at the age of 83! She amazed everyone with her boundless energy and ability to constantly smile.

Former Royal Engineer Alan Larder became the first person to take part in the march on a hand-cycle. Alan had just 3 DAYS training on the VC supplied bike prior to the march!

MARK WHITE
Former Royal Marine Mark completed the march in both 2010 and 2011 and will be returning for a third time in 2012. Mark's amazing calm and determination earned him THE MARK HALE TROPHY in 2011.

Wendy has also completed the march in 2010 and 2011 and will be taking the 132 mile route on again in 2012. Wendy set a new WORLD RECORD at this year's VLM for the fastest woman in fancy dress. She ran the 26.2 mile course in 4hrs44 dressed in a dog suit!

Adam and Chris are the sports physio team for The Forces March. In 2011, it was said by many participants that without Adam and Chris, they would not have finished the march. Revolution Health were VERY busy in 2011 and will be returning with a larger team for 2012. Brilliant skill and superb knowledge, we wouldnt recommend anyone else!

The amazing people of this wonderful Wiltshire village have welcomed the marchers with open arms and provide evening meal and breakfast for the participants and support crew each year. Ben astounded everyone in 2010 when he walked the final 400 yds to the finish line on his prosthetic legs. Ben, who was seriously wounded in Afghanistan in 2006, has since skied, skydived, swam and walked miles. He is one of the UKs most inspirational people and epitomises the resolve, courage and brilliance of our armed forces.

Without a doubt the biggest 'little' character on the march. Kaja is the first person to enter each year and will be doing her third march in 2012. Always smiling and happy, entertainment is never far away when Kaja is around.

In 2011, Team Sirens SMASHED the fundraising record for the forces march raising in excess of £13,000 from different events and sponsorship for the march. A staggering achievement. Can it be broken? They're back again in 2012!

Serving soldiers from Catterick set the record for the most amount raised by a military team in 2011 - a whopping £5500! Thanks to their determination and outstanding attitude on the march they were awarded the Army Challenge Cup for the most outstanding military team. It now sits in a display cabinet in North Yorkshire!

These three intrepid Devonians have completed two marches in 2010 and 2011 and have raised a combined total of more than £9000. The intrepid three are returning for their third FM in 2012!
