Regrettably, The Forces March 2023 has been cancelled due to reasons beyond our control. We will announce dates for the next FM as soon as possible!

The Forces March is the key fundraising event for The Veterans Charity and all funds raised on the march go to charity to help provide vital support to hundreds of Veterans who face hardship and distress. Since 2010, the participants of The Forces March have raised more than £500,000 for The Veterans Charity!

Create your own, bespoke fundraising page when registering - it's quick and easy and you can even add photos, videos and regular updates as well as tell donors your story about why you are taking part in The Forces March and why supporting our Veterans is important to you.

"I've run the Forces March 5 times now and it is the best multi-day marathon event on the calendar. You raise money for a great cause, you make life-long friendships and you will want to do it all again the following year."

PHIL HAMMOND - well in excess of 100 marathons and several ultra-marathons including a 1200 mile run from Leeds to Land's End, to Carlisle and back to Leeds in Summer 2021!

"having completed numerous arduous adventure training activities, competed Internationally in athletics and swum the channel supporting the participants of the Forces March has me in awe. Mentally and physically demanding it encapsulates all that is required to achieve great things. For the UAS students who partake this event ticks all the boxes of what the military want in their future armed forces. Long may it continue"

Since participating in The Forces March in 2010 independently, it inspired me to want to come back as part of a team, being in the military and moving to 504 Sqn gave me this opportunity. I mentioned it to the OC who was up for the challenge and we entered a team with the HQ staff in 2015 and brought home the Military Team Challenge Cup.  This inspired the whole squadron,  I approached the part-time reservists to see if they would be up for the ‘challenge’.  There were a few volunteers and again we entered a team and now they understand the comradery, challenge, determination and true grit that this event makes.  It brings you out of your comfort zone and  stretches individuals making them realise what they are physically capable of achieving.  This year I won the ‘Most Outstanding Female’ award and was over the moon by winning this.

This event makes you learn a lot about yourself that you didn’t already know and gives you the opportunity to meet people from all backgrounds that one wouldn’t necessarily have in their own environment.  It also makes you understand that this isn’t about winning or losing it’s about taking part in something special that could dramatically benefit someone less fortunate than yourself.

Some participants have already stated they have ‘unfinished business’ and will be back next year.
